I met Prajakt Raut at a friend’s house and later at his office in Gurgaon. I had vested interests. Prajakt before starting Orange Cross was the director of TIE and knew more about entrepreneurship and funding than any man I knew…and was ready to share his experience, for free.

He spoke for 2 hours and we heard. Most of what he had to say, we heart for the first time. I only remember this. “When going after what you love, kill all other options”.

Belated Happy Diwali Guys. Trust you had fun and the hangovers are over; and thanks, I had an interesting Diwali too. ‘Interesting’ is actually an understatement. An open letter to ‘MC’ and the CM.

Letter 1 To MC (Mr. Chaudhary). Dear Mr. Chaudhary (MC), I understand you moved to DehraDun within the last decade from our neighboring towns like Muzzafarnagar, Roorkee, Meerut, Saharanpur, Yamunanagar etc.; and found this town to be both peaceful and lucrative. I also understand that you had substantial agricultural income that you used; to buy land and commercial properties in DehraDun at prices that no local could afford. I am sure your 130 KG body and 6 feet; well built frame ,has also come in handy , while bidding for liquor licenses, government contracts, and generally to keep the typical 72 KG and 5 feet 7 inches ‘local’ away from where you think , he should keep away. The point is…today, you and your sons, nephews and cousins are all over our once quite town, driving bigger and meaner cars, getting into brawls with people on the road and generally making a “Muzzafarnagar” out of Doon. Wakt aa gaya? Phir se? :) | Unplanned Decade 2010-2020

  I wonder why I did not write for this blog in the last ten odd years (give or take a few months). I am looking for reasons to impress, but there are only the regular, mundane, ‘what happens in entrepreneurship’ kind of reasons. Pata hi nahi chala yaar…dus saal ho gaye? Type . In this time however, much has happened. (Picture from our first company offsite. None of the people in the picture work directly with me now, other than Amit Vishnoi, who heads and largely owns Jingles India. ( www.Jingles.co.in )  Some in the picture are still friends. Some , like Diwas and Vikram, who eventually became partners, fell out with me and had to exit. Others moved on in life to either become their better selves, like Gauri, who is now a leading Animal Rights activist and policy advocate, some others got married and 'settled' or simply moved on.
